Morning! A little poem to start your day (and yes I take commissions😜😜)
So I’m managing pretty well

After this year of Hell..

But today, it’s hey

Pain in the arse

How do I do

My Body Balance class?

With my split fingers

The soreness lingers

When it comes to the ‘Plank’

Hand eczema is RANK!!
La la la la – I’m a bit bonkers today as went to a brilliant pantomime last night.

Oh no you didn’t!

OH YES I DID!!!

Apologies to those outside the U.K. – Panto is a 300 year old tradition only ever done in this country. Google it – Such FUN!!!

Weird track marks that weep if I go near them. Not fair and boo hoo – similar to horrible heels – all same feet thing. Need to get some fucidin or something drying and antibiotic….

Don’t want to put anyone off their food – but – after all these years of dodgy skin – recently now have a new area that never seems to heal… I’m avoiding steroid and just usejnf Sudocrem or Germolene but although not itchy, not scratched – just festers! YUK! Anyone else get this?? Right heel worse than left…

Faulty skin I say! No scratching required. Hate it when it’s my right hand as mostly the one I use – therefore mostly on show..Doesn’t even hurt just looks horrid!

So I’m doing 10 days in a row at work and showed you lovely skin only yesterday! Therefore, either it was the vodka and tonic I had last night, or my skinny jeans were too much pressure on the skin, or the Hydrous ointment emollient caused an outbreak after ladling it on after a cool bath last night…. I DON’T KNOW !!! But I’m now covered again – legs arms and belly!! Just did another cool bath tonight and used loads of  Doublebase Gel. If that doesn’t help.. Dermovate tomorrow. Bloody annoying! And extremely itchy! ARGGGHHHH

Had a guy write a long message to the Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/eczemasupport

About how debilitating his skin was. About how he was starting to feel reclusive as it encroached more and more on his life. He’s a postman. I know how painful it is to walk when skin sore. Can you imagine posting letters and sorting through mail with sore hands?

I felt sad that the only person I trust to help him, charges about £200 for first consultation as he no longer does NHS, only private. He will reduce costs because ultimately he cares about the psychological damage this disease does. Unlike many others.

So I tried to offer support and a new regime to help him get better meanwhile.

Weirdly, despite many external stresses – job, buying flat, sad daughter… My skin is so much better. I’ve even had my legs and arms out!

Went to Crete – with skin not so good – 37 degrees – bit too hot for me! But as long as I can dunk myself in water, I can usually manage. But boy did the sea burn! “Doesn’t the sea heal your skin though?” That common question!  Well – yes – salt heals… Provided you get to rinse it off as soon as you get out either with a fresh water beach shower (if you’re lucky), or with bottled water – so that basically you don’t end up scratching with the stickiness and ruin all the ‘healing’! “Oh but doesn’t the sun heal?” Yes if you have the type of eczema that likes the sun, and if you don’t get too hot with it and then of course, itchy! My Professor specialises in eczema in sunlight as there are those who can’t have sun on skin as it reacts badly. OH BUT AREN’T THOSE WITHOUT #ECZEMA SO QUICK TO OFFER SO MANY ‘SIMPLE’ SOLUTIONS? ARGHHHHH! (Yes I know they mean well…)

I’ve heard they only cover 2 weeks on skin when training, suppose I should find out for sure – but BOY do  they love to preach, restrict what you have and generally PATRONISE! I’m not really generalising either, to me they are all much of a muchness when it comes to #eczema.

Yesterday I went to try and get different emollients, my skin has had enough of Hydrous Ointment for now (5 yrs approx) – and I got told to stop scratching within seconds, I think I just touched my arm, got told of the dangers of steroid ointment and BLA BLA BLA! I hate to admit it but I’m over 50 now – do ya think I may have a clue or 2???  Argh!

Anyway – I got my husband to sit in with me – ridiculous I feel I need to – and got mostly what I wanted.

Today is 31 degrees and so still itch-making – however I’m going without socks as feet are calmer. Oh joy!
